The Road

There is a road to almost anywhere from where you are, but the road that calls your name and begs you to begin is like a song carefully tuned to your heart only.

There is a road to almost anywhere from where you are, but the road that calls your name and begs you to begin is like a song carefully tuned to your heart only. It whistles, hums, and whispers the words “come hither, ” and you must obey, less you find yourself lost in a place, not of your choosing. Your road is always there calling you, even when you are old, not content to give up until your last breath is taken. There is peril on this road and sometimes hardship, but you know it is the right road because all your being vibrates as if you were a song yourself and your melody was just happy to be on its way to fulfilling its destiny.

You will be called forth many times and you might think it to be many highways that you have traveled, but in truth, it is all one road, and your stories reflect the continuous notes of your home-song unfolding. Different places and reststops along the way that binds you to the land and then sing you forward to the next home, just up around the bend and just down the way.

And, at the end of your road, if you have heeded the call, then you will laugh out loud to no one in particular and say “what a damn fine journey,” knowing you have been blessed with a story for the ages that will transcend all time and be the whisper of those who will someday follow.

There is a road to almost anywhere from where you are, but the road that calls your name and begs you to begin is like a song carefully tuned to your heart only.
